Right now, DeKalb County is making important decisions that will influence housing options available to older adults now and for years to come—from staying in the home you love to finding an affordable, accessible, and desirable home that better fits your needs.

The in-progress DeKalb County Zoning Update and Comprehensive Housing Plan are two critical initiatives that impact our housing options. Most of us don’t think about zoning codes or housing plans until they affect us. When it does get our attention, it’s often too late. Right now, we can still be part of the conversation.

We must show up! We must add our voices!

To that end, Aging in Placers (AIP) invites you to an engaging, interactive event where you’ll learn about and have the opportunity to provide input on AIP zoning and housing priorities that we will submit to DeKalb County. You’ll also learn about the results of an AIP/Georgia Tech project that influenced our priority decisions.

In addition, DeKalb County representatives and community partners will be there to talk to you about their initiatives and services. Here is your opportunity to tell them what matters most to you for aging in place in DeKalb.
